Evaluations

Residents are coached through their training by the program directors, chief residents, and faculty advisors. Residents are evaluated in writing at the end of each rotation by faculty, fellows, and medical students using the ACGME competencies. Families, peers, and staff also have the opportunity to evaluate residents throughout the year via a 360-degree evaluation process.

Faculty advisors meet regularly with residents to review evaluations and to act as mentors. The Clinical Competency Committee meets biannually and ad hoc to review resident progress. All residents meet individually with the program director biannually, if not more. All residents take the national in-training exam yearly in preparation for the Pediatric Board examination.
