The Pediatrics program provides a well-rounded education through a variety of conferences and lectures. Aside from the list below many subspecialty conferences are also available for those interested in attending. Additionally, the Sakai online learning management system is utilized in order to provide access to the curriculum in an online format. Residents and faculty can easily access our calendar of conferences along with copies of the presentations and associated materials through New Innovations.
Noon Conference
Fridays, 12:30-1:30, Conference Room HD-610
Residents present interesting and educational cases to their peers and faculty. All residents are invited to attend the morning report.
Grand Rounds
Thursdays, 8:00-9:00 am, Communicore Building, Room C1-07
Both UF faculty and visiting professors provide exposure to state-of-the-art basic and clinical research with application to patient care.
Attendance credit and CME provided for attendance at live event or via group webcast at one of the designated clinic locations with attendance tracking. Attendance and/or CME credit not given for viewing in individual offices or other locations.

Academic Half Days (AHD)
Tuesday afternoons
Series of lectures covering topics selected from Nelson’s Textbook of Pediatrics and PREP series. Introduce and cover basic pediatric concepts as well as prepare residents for the Pediatric Boards. All topics will be covered in an 18 month period giving the resident exposure to all topics twice during their residency.
Fellows’ Research Conference
Every Wednesday September-June, 8:00-8:30am, Conference Room HD-610
The aim of the conference series is to increase awareness of current research studies. This will provide an opportunity for fellows to present their research to faculty and their peers and discuss current topics, methodologies and findings; ultimately strengthening research outcomes.
Journal Club
Monthly, Conference Room HD-610
Second-year pediatric residents lead this conference that is designed to reinforce critical thinking and the use of evidence-based medicine when evaluating research.
Intern lecture series
Series of lectures occurring daily in July and covers some fundamental topics in pediatrics such as seizures, fever and neutropenia, and asthma.
