About Brittany S Bruggeman

Hi, my name is Dr. Brittany Bruggeman. I work as a board-certified pediatrician and pediatric endocrinologist. I graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florida with my undergraduate degree in basic biology and medicine, with a minor in music performance. I continued at the UF College of Medicine where I completed my medical degree with honors. I subsequently attended pediatric residency and then an endocrinology fellowship at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital.

During my time at UF, I have received numerous scholarly awards, including the 2020 Douglas J. Barrett, MD Academic Fellowship Award that recognizes pediatric clinicians or researchers for displaying the highest qualities in research, teaching and patient care. I have received a number of NIH and foundation awards to research ways to improve the care of patients with type 1 diabetes.

I am also a member of many professional organizations including the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Diabetes Association and Type 1 Diabetes TrialNet, an international network of endocrinologists at the forefront of type 1 diabetes research.
