Thank you for your interest in our Pediatric Residency Program. We are thrilled you are considering the University of Florida for your next step in training and being a part of the Gator Nation for life.
The application deadline for first-year positions is November 1 each year for positions that begin on July 1 the following year. To apply, you must sign up and participate in the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).
Your ERAS application should include three letters of reference, your Medical Student Performance Evaluation (aka dean’s letter), your personal statement, your curriculum vitae, your full medical school transcript, and your USMLE scores. Please note that results from USMLE Step I are needed for the application and results from both Step I and II are needed prior to the end of the interview season. COMLEX scores are accepted. We accept International Medical Graduates and sponsor J-1 visas only.
Prior clinical training is not required for our residency program, and we consider every application. It is very important for your file to be as complete as possible for our review. A personal email to interview is sent to you upon acceptance. We interview October through January on selected Mondays and Fridays.
If you are currently in medical school and would like information on a fourth-year elective in pediatrics, please see our information at Fourth Year Medical Curriculum and view the UF College of Medicine’s fourth-year course catalog. Then review procedures for visiting students at the UF College of Medicine Office of Student Affairs website.
Best wishes as you begin your residency search. We look forward to hearing from you!
