The Walter W. Tunnessen, Jr. MD Award for the Advancement of Pediatric Resident Education from the Association of Pediatric Program Directors’ honors a Program Director or Associate Program Director (past or present) for extraordinary or innovative contribution(s) in pediatric graduate medical education.

Dr. Black was also awarded the UF David A. Paulus Award for Clinical Excellence in 2013.
